Who should sign-up?
We welcome all ages, genders and fitness levels. You don't have to be in shape to join and classes are structured to meet everyone's abilities. We encourage everyone to come out and do their best!
What results can I expect?
By signing up for Urban Athletics Boot Camp, you will lose weight all over your body while toning muscles and increasing your energy level. You will gain skills to take charge of your fitness routine and change your eating habits for long-term success. If you incorporate a healthy diet with our workout regimen you will be astounded at the results you can achieve in one month. You will increase your energy, endurance and flexibility while decreasing stress.
What should I do when my session ends?
We believe fitness is a way of life and not just a quick fix. After you complete a course, you will have the motivation and confidence to keep up your workout routine. Many boot camp participants will find this unique approach to fitness is more results-driven then a gym membership and sign up year-round. Whatever your situation, we encourage our members to be as active as possible!
What should I bring to class?
Please make sure to bring enough water, a good rule of thumb is to bring 1 and 1/2 times more water than you think you will need. We also suggest that participants buy a pair of work-out gloves, nothing fancy, just something that will protect your hands from the elements. Check out our links page to see examples.
What should I wear to class?
Comfortable, lightweight workout clothing and tennis shoes that are designed for running or cross training are recommended.
-When the weather cools, you will want to bring a sweatshirt and/or dress in heavier layers.
-Women should wear appropriate fitness gear for maximum comfort and support, such as a sports bra.
How much weight will I lose?
The answer is ultimately up to you. A healthy approach to weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week, or 4-8 pounds per month. Boot camp attendees will have the best results if they combine class with other forms of light exercise on non-boot camp days and adjust their eating habits to include whole foods and grains, replacing refined sugars with complex carbs and getting plenty of lean protein.
What if I can't make it to class one day?
If you're a no-show we will make sure everyone else makes up for your absence by doing extra push-ups & sit-ups! Just kidding, but we're sure attendance will be high because Urban Athletics Boot Camper's have signed up to make a difference in their lives and won't want to miss a great workout!
I am worried that Urban Athletics Boot Camp too advanced for me?
Absolutely not! Urban Athletics Boot Camp is a complete fitness program designed for the entry-level to advanced urban athlete. While Urban Athletics Boot Camp provides clients with heart-pounding, muscle-toning workouts, the over-all "pump" you get from class is up to you. In other words, you control how hard you push yourself, and at what intensity level you want to maintain throughout class.
What if I can't perform a certain exercise?
No problem! The trainers at Urban Athletics Boot Camp will work with you to modify a particular move so that you will still receive all the fat-burning & muscle-toning benefits. Fitness should be something you want to do, not have to do!
I have never worked out before, is there anything I can do to prepare for class?
Many clients who come to class have never exercised a day in their life, at Urban Athletics Boot Camp we provide the basics for a lifelong fitness regimen. Classes will consist of high-output, cardio-pumping exercises. In the weeks prior to class, focus on activities that will raise your heart rate. Take the stairs, take a break at work to walk or jog around the block, you don't have to be in a gym to exercise!
